New Orleans Paddlewheels
Our Story
Constructed in Moss Point, Mississippi, the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen took her maiden voyage on October 1, 1983. She is an authentic paddlewheeler powered by a 24 foot diameter paddlewheel and the most modern, fuel efficient diesel-electric system ever installed in a boat of this class. Although a modern vessel, the Creole Queen is befitting of 19th century New Orleans. However, passengers of that era could never have conceived of a riverboat with her levels of luxury, comfort, and safety. Outer decks trimmed with patterned wrought iron hearken to a bygone era. Opulent interiors accented by Victorian draperies, soft period lighting, and Louisiana Cypress create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The Paddlewheeler Creole Queen is a part of the Hospitality Enterprises, Inc. / bigeasy.com family-owned group of companies.
